08:35 <CoderForLife> hello Jay

08:36 <CoderForLife> just installed ossec on new CentOS box

08:36 <CoderForLife> noticed that since I'm running multiple web sites with separate httpd log files, I did not previously have ossec lokoing at those logs

08:37 <CoderForLife> looking, either

08:39 <xcamel> It should pick them up based on httpd.conf

08:40 <xcamel> howto

08:42 <xcamel> osx downgrade

08:42 <dizzie> Hrm, CentOS is limited to 1TB FS

08:42 <CoderForLife> the ossec.conf file doesn't list my hosted web site log files

08:43 <CoderForLife> only the base Apache ones

08:43 <CoderForLife> so I *assumed* that ossec wasn't looking at my other Apache logs

08:44 <dizzie> Check <VirtualHost> ... Between <Virtual and </Virtual... you add where and what, the logfile goes

08:44 <xcamel> typing on wrong keyboard there for a minute..

08:44 <CoderForLife> yeah - I have separate logs files for each hosted site, so I can run a Webalizer report just for that site traffic

08:45 <CoderForLife> but - ossec did not have those separate site log files listed as logs to monitor in ossec.conf

08:46 <dizzie> Did it work before ossec ?

08:47 <CoderForLife> yes - the separate web site log files work fine - my concern was that if someone was doing bad things, ossec would not alert me because I don't think it was looking at those site log files

08:47 <CoderForLife> I added the site log files to ossec.conf as additional log files to watch

08:47 <dizzie> Sounds like its a ossec issue then.

08:48 <dizzie> Got a crying cat brb

08:48 <xcamel> Let Dan Cid know about that issue though - #ossec

08:48 <xcamel> someone might already have the answer.

08:48 <CoderForLife> dunno if it's an issue at all - I don't recall getting any warning about hacking attempts from those separate log files - I just noticed the config option when I was installing ossec on this new box

08:49 <CoderForLife> worse case - I get notified twice, then I'll know

08:49 <dizzie> Silly kitten got her paw stuck between a chair and a table :(

08:59 * CoderForLife starts installing ossec-wui

08:59 <xcamel> I need to know how to do a 10.5.4 downgrade back to .3

09:00 <dizzie> Not sure you can downgrade OSX

09:00 <dizzie> Whats wrong with .4 ?

09:00 <xcamel> I'm doing some searching..

09:03 <dizzie> My Macbook pro runs FreeBSD atm :)

09:05 <xcamel> the upgrade messed up the memory controller.

09:07 *** wdsmia_ has joined #Boinc

09:07 <dizzie> Common fault. I read something about it on a danish site... And yeah, .3 is the easiest solution

09:08 <xcamel> got a link?

09:08 <dizzie> Its only in danish, so wont help you much :(

09:08 <xcamel> I got the 3-beep no boot error

09:08 <xcamel> oh great...

09:09 <dizzie> But they said that downgrade was the easiest if not the only- solution

09:09 <xcamel> untill I pulled the 2nd module.

16:11 *** jackygrahamez__ has quit IRC

16:14 <CoderForLife> well, there's a "fun fact" for you

16:24 <Didactylos> Ew! Can this code GET any worse!

16:25 <Didactylos> Bad enough it uses #define everywhere for everything, but I just realised those number declared so casually are subsequently used blindly to index into a vector.

16:25 * CoderForLife struggles with the same @#% SugarCRM install error

16:26 <Didactylos> All utterly futile, since there is absolutely no reason why you can't just keep a direct reference to the item.

16:26 <CoderForLife> but at least I've found a forum thread that finally seems to explain it

16:26 <PovAddict> Didactylos: what code?

16:27 <Didactylos> Guess....

16:27 <PovAddict> simple GUI?

16:29 <Didactylos> Actually, no. Advanced.

16:30 <Didactylos> The simple view is still new and shiny, so even if it's weird and broken, it lacks the really crazy crap that only comes with years of constant fiddling.

16:30 <PovAddict> hehe

16:30 <CoderForLife> my problem was - guess what - security...

16:30 <CoderForLife> SugarCRM installer doesn't know how to check or set that

16:31 <CoderForLife> rarely convenient...

16:31 <Didactylos> Hey, it's *that* Metropolis.

16:32 <Didactylos> I almost watched it not so long ago.

16:32 <Didactylos> If I wait a little, I'll be able to see the restored version.

16:32 <PovAddict> hrm

16:33 <PovAddict> this game runs on Wine but doesn't make sprites transparent... I see blue stuff around everything

16:33 <PovAddict> but I once had that no-transparency problem with the game running directly on Windows

16:34 <PovAddict> I have version 2 (where I never had transparency problems on Windows, and has more interesting levels) but it's DRM'd like hell so it probably won't run at all on Wine

16:34 <Didactylos> What game?

16:35 <PovAddict> DRM is rarel^H^H^H^H^Hnever convenient
