20:05 <_AxS_> hey all -- i'm working on setting up boinc on some headless linux boxes.  I used a combination of boincmgr and boincmd to set things up, but i'm wondering if, now that i'm downloading and processing work, I can leave it alone and the daemon will do everything or if I need to set up some cronjobs like "boincmd update" to run every so often.?

20:17 *** chek2fire has joined #boinc

20:18 <nicolas17> _AxS_: BOINC is supposed to be set-and-forget

20:18 <nicolas17> I wouldn't expect my mom to keep an eye on boincmgr to see that it's still fetching workunits

20:18 <nicolas17> whether it succeeds at that goal or not is a different matter :P

20:18 <_AxS_> nicolas17: sweet, so no need for any particular maintenance commands necessary or anything

20:19 <_AxS_> the boinccmd howto mentioned easy scriptability and the whole --project update thing seemed to be the primary example, so i wasn't sure if that was something necessary or not

20:22 <_AxS_> i don't suppose one boincmgr instance connects nicely to say 10 boinc-clients at once?

20:22 <nicolas17> nope, only one at a time

20:22 <nicolas17> but there are third-party apps like boinctasks to control multiple remote clients at once
