10:40 <anon12345> boinc GPU detection failed.

10:40 <anon12345> error code 512 GPU not found.

10:40 <anon12345> boinc GPU detection failed

10:43 <Gunde> anon12345: Boinc can´t find your grafic card.

10:43 <anon12345> yeah

10:43 <Gunde> :)

10:44 *** scoobot has quit IRC

10:44 <Gunde> Check drivers first

10:44 <anon12345> I currently have all possible drivers installed including: bumblebee, cuda, opencl-nvidia, mesa, lib32-mesa, lib32-glibc, lib32-glib2, lib32-pango, lib32-libxi, lib32-mesa, lib32-libjpeg6-turbo, lib32-libxmu and linux411-nvidia

10:44 <Gunde> if not that it could be permissions issue

10:44 <Gunde> if linux add boinc to videogroup

10:45 <anon12345> added

10:45 <Gunde> Add PPA nvida drivers, these should have all that is needed

10:45 <Gunde> Then reboot pc and try again

10:51 <desti> does your gpu work for graphics acceleration?

16:59 <flym> hello. i am having a weird problem with BOINC. when i allow boinc to use more than 2 cpu cores (out of 4), it constantly stops and starts the running tasks which results in the tasks pretty much not making any progress and at the same time making the whole system very sluggish. any ideas what could be the cause and how to fix that?

17:00 <flym> i have configured BOINC to use all the cpus all the time, so there should never be a reason to suspend tasks at all

17:30 <desti> there is an option to how long run each task

17:31 <desti> Computing preferences > Switch between tasks every minutes

17:34 <flym> i think that one is set to 60 minutes

17:35 <desti> hmm

17:35 <nicolas17> "constantly stops and starts" sounds like throttling

17:35 <nicolas17> like when you set it to use 50% CPU

17:35 <nicolas17> it runs for 1 second and suspends for 1 second

17:36 <flym> yeah, that's what i thought, but i have double checked and all the limits are disabled as far as i can tell

17:37 *** nicolas17 has quit IRC

17:37 <flym> also, the starting and stopping causes the task process to be stopped and then a new process to be spawned, which severely slows down the whole system

17:38 <flym> (i can see the process IDs of the tasks quickly changing)

17:39 <flym> when i limit BOINC to 2 cpus everything works fine
